In der Fiction Abteilung der H5B5 Media wird eine neue SciFi-Serie für den internationalen Markt entwickelt - "Ice Planet".

Die Serie ist als großes galaktisches Abenteuer in der Tradition des Welterfolges "Star Wars" konzipiert.

Der Trailer wurde 1999 von ProSieben im Rahmen der Düsseldorfer Telemesse bereits dem deutschen Markt vorgestellt.

Für die Serie konnte ein internationaler Cast gewonnen werden, auch deutsche Schauspieler sind beteiligt, u.a. Rainer Schöne und die Newcomerin Anna Brüggemann.

Der bekannte Regisseur Rick Kolbe, der u.a. 30 Episoden der TV- Serie Star Trek inszenierte, konnte für dieses Filmprojekt begeistert werden. Die Special Effects werden von Academy Award-Preisträger John F. Schlag mit dem Circles & Lines Team kreiert.

Synopsis:

ICE PLANET is a great cosmic adventure with breathtaking visual effects. The Series is the ongoing story of a group lured and then marooned millions of light years from Earth in the wake of a vicious alien attack. It mixes the futuristic science fiction of strange new worlds with an ongoing mystery that will slowly unravel during the course of the series. The mystery is initially tied to the meaning of the Aleph Tree in the Ice Cave; a cosmological database which may well affect the future of humanity. The marooned travelers need to follow the clues planted there in order to accumulate the knowledge necessary to return home and defeat the powerful Aliens who attacked them. There`s also the mystery of those aliens, the Skorps and the Zedoni and the Ice Beings, and the quest to understand why the humans were brought to the planet in the first place. The story is framed by an unrevealed narrator from an unspecified time, which adds yet another intriguing riddle - and one not to be fully revealed until the very end of the series. In the Pilot (duration: 90 minutes) we`ve seen the opening chapter of the tale: how they were stranded on this foreboding planet millions of light years from home, along with the first hints as to why they`ve been brought there. Each Series Episode will open with a credit sequence of shots from the Pilot showing how they came to the planet, the last being an orbital shot of the lonely blue Ice Planet. And each episode will end with the narrator reading some lines from the preserved "record" of their travels, The Ice Planet Archives.
