H5B5 : commissioned to produce "Was Ist Was TV"

Munich, 20 th of November 2000. H5B5 will produce a TV-format of Germany`s most successful brand in children's non-fiction books "Was ist Was" .

"Was Ist Was - TV Production and Brand Development" is a joint venture between the Tessloff publishing house, Nuremberg, and CTM Concept - TV & Merchandising Munich. The joint venture has commissioned H5B5 to bring Germany's most successful brand in children's non-fiction books onto screen. The Munich film and television production company will transform the well known "Was Ist Was?" books of the Tessloff publishing house into 26 episodes of high quality documentaries for children.

Meeting the requirements of the young market, the series will contain informative and entertaining computer animated graphics.

H5B5 Media's mutual concept development with Tessloff and CTM has been successfully completed while CTM - due to its broad international experience in the development of brands for children and family entertainment - took a leading position.

"Was Ist Was?" has been Germany's leading series of non-fictional books for children and young adults for 30 years, and so far has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Through receiving this commission, H5B5 Media enhances its position as the leading and most innovative documentary producer.
