WELT DER WUNDER

The technology

The latest technology is used to produce "Welt der Wunder" (2D/3D graphics, flint*/flame* compositing, a virtual studio, Avid etc). The lighting for interviews is brought up to movie standards, animal and technical images are filmed with digital cameras; 16 mm movie cameras and high speed pictures are also part of the repertoire. Graphic 2D/3D simulation, which has received several awards, is developed to explain complex material which is difficult to illustrate from the real world.

The data

"Welt der Wunder" concentrates on a target group of viewers aged between 14 and 49. Figures provided by the GfK market research institute prove that "Welt der Wunder" successfully reaches its target audience. Starting with a 6.8% market share in May 1996 (viewers above the age of 3), "Welt der Wunder" has continually risen in viewer popularity to as high as a 9.9% market share. The figures for viewers in the 14-49 age bracket are even more convincing: from an 11% market share in 1996, the market share has grown to as high as 16.9% now. The record was achieved at the start of 1998 with 5.44 million viewers (above the age of 3), which represents a market share of 25.5%.
